As 2010 ends, you have to start thinking about what you want to accomplish in the New Year. Just making a New Year’s resolution, as many of you know, will not necessarily mean you will accomplish that wish. If you truly want to achieve your wish, you must write it down, make sure it is achievable in a particular time frame and hold yourself accountable by monitoring your progress. Personally, I see no reason to wait till a certain date like New Year’s to set a goal. I do it all year long!
This year, I decided to depart from that principle to share my goals that I want to accomplish by the end of 2011.
- Top 100 Personal Finance Blogs – I want to be part of the Top 100 Personal Finance Blogs. I am currently increasing my Alexa Traffic Rank daily by commenting on various blogs and forums.
- Increase workouts – Increase workouts from two (2) times a week to three (3) times a week. Although I am physically fit, I want to add one additional workout to improve my stamina, quality of life and good health.
- Be more patient – In the past, I used my impatience to drive myself to reach goals faster and better. The negative side is my impatience interferes with my message. I realized time constraints trigger my impatience, so I will slow down my responses and speak more slowly.
- Volunteering – I want to volunteer two (2) hours a week. This is something I thought I would start when I retire. I decided why wait!
I got everything I ever wanted because I set goals and developed a plan to accomplish them. Goal setting works! Goals are your target and the plan is the road map to get there. Along the way, I want to share my progress as well as my disappointments. My persistence or determination may encourage you to stretch and achieve more. What do you want to accomplish? What are you waiting for?
