I am sure you know people who love what they do. What do they look like? Are they different? Yes, they are happy! Are they rich? In many cases, probably not, but they earn enough money to make them happy. So who are these lucky people and how did they find their passion? Most doctors, actors, teachers, firefighters, and policemen are generally happy with their careers. So how do you find this wonderful rewarding career?
Start with what you like to do. This is very important because you will be spending a lot of time doing it. How do you figure that out? Make a list of things you like to do! Next, find the careers that interest you and find out what skills are necessary to pursue that career. If you like something, you are more likely to learn the necessary skills or do well in that career. The next step is to find out more information about the career by talking to someone who actually does it. Ask that person what they like or dislike about their career? This is your opportunity to ask all your questions. As you become comfortable with the person and your career choice, you should use this opportunity to job shadow. Spend hours or days to see first-hand what it would be like to perform that career. This is usually a very valuable experience because you see what it is like to work in that career. To sum up, start with what you like, match your interests with the career skills and try it out by experiencing it. If you like this article, please subscribe.
