I am taking a hard look at refinancing again! I know you think I am late to the party, but Au Contraire Mon Ami. My mortgage balance (approx $60K) is so small that I am penalized when I refinance. Banks are not exactly thrilled with me. That is okay, I am not exactly thrilled with them. I am used to being wined and dined by bankers with perks or rewards!
I routinely receive lots of offers from banks on a weekly basis. Waived fees, perks, free services and other bonuses. It is the result of a lifetime of acting responsibly financially. I am able to get credit cards whenever I want with rewards of miles and waived fees. Refinancing is different because the fees are similar no matter what the amount of the loan. I am trying to get the lowest interest rates and shorten my loan the maximum period. Isn’t that simple enough?
In my exploits I uncovered a bank that will pay me to take a loan, but I never expected a bonus. Online loans are willing to pay you a bonus to take out a loan! not a bad deal, if it makes sense to you. Mortgages are different and have more fees because it is for fifteen (15) or thirty (30) years. I can still identify the best or my favorite articles of the week. This makes a good segue to today’s picks for Friday Night Links.
The following articles caught my attention:
Smart Money Focus – Bain Capital and I
So Over This – How to Deal When You Lose Your Phone
Sweating The Big Stuff – Is Bankruptcy Too Easy?
The Amateur Financier – World Domination 102 – Building a World Conquering Fortune
The selection of blogs is up to the committee of one established by krantcents as a representative of the Academy of Frugal Journalistic Writers. That committee can be influenced by meaningful comments, signing up for my RSS feeds, backlinks, links, trackbacks, Facebook Likes, Twitter, Re-tweets, Digg, StumbleUpon, delicio, Yahoo Buzz, Google Bookmarks and other social media. If you plan on creating a single purpose political action committee (PAC) to buy advertising on my blog to solely influence the committee, please go ahead! Please understand it will not influence the results.
I read more than five hundred (500) articles a week and I highlight just five (5) in my Friday Night Links. Refinancing will shorten my path to retirement! Thanks for reading Friday Night Links Refinancing Edition.
