Patience is a skill I am still working on! Last Spring, I became a casualty of the state budget crisis and lost my teaching assignment. My school district is emphasizing college prep to improve education and test scores. The school district is focusing on core subjects. As an elective teacher, I was a casualty of this policy emphasis. The good news is I am still employed!
Employed, but without an assignment. They call me a pool teacher which means I cover classes when the regular teacher is absent until I get a permanent assignment. I discovered a long time ago that I am not a patient person, but I use my impatience to get things done. In this environment, I need to be proactive or lost in the system. I have a reputation for getting things done, but patience is needed in this environment.
It is sort of a Catch 22! Should I wait or do something? I decided to keep doing something and work on my patience at another time. I can also identify the best or my favorite articles of the week. This makes a good segue to today’s picks for Friday Night Links.
The following articles caught my attention:
Faith and Finance – What is dividend Investing?
Figuring Money Out – Diversified Income Plans
Financially Consumed – Does Your Bank Account Work For You?
Free from Broke – How to Negotiate to Lower Your Credit Card Interest Rates
The selection of blogs is up to the committee of one established by krantcents as a representative of the Academy of Frugal Journalistic Writers. That committee can be influenced by meaningful comments, signing up for my RSS feeds, backlinks, links, trackbacks, Facebook Likes, Twitter, Re-tweets, Digg, StumbleUpon, delicio, Yahoo Buzz, Google Bookmarks and other social media. If you plan on creating a single purpose political action committee (PAC) to buy advertising on my blog to solely influence the committee, please go ahead! Please understand it will not influence the results.
I read more than five hundred (500) articles a week and I highlight just five (5) in my Friday Night Links. Do Something! Thanks for reading Friday Night Links Patience Edition.
