This is my first quarter 2012 goals update, since I made my 2012 New Year Resolutions. This where I update you on how I am doing regarding my goals for 2012. Right? I will give you a detailed progress report. I hate excuses because too many people use them to explain why they do not achieve their goals. So I will just explain what happened and leave it to you to decide.
Near the end of January, I sustained a pinched nerve. After visiting the orthopedist, I learned that I have degenerating disks in my neck. I still have pain from this and will have to have surgery this summer. If this were a boxing match, it would be a standing count. In other words I am still fighting, but I am not a 100%. Next Google decimates my Page Rank. That was my second knock down, but I am not out. So I am still standing, but a little dazed.
My 2012 New Year’s Resolutions are the following:
Volunteering – I want to volunteer two (2) hours a week. Thanks to the pinched nerve, this goal is shelved until after the surgery and recovery. Right now it appears to be delayed until the third quarter.
Earn more income from my blog – I would like to average at least $2,000 per month net. January started out pretty well, February was less and March was just about zero. Thanks to Google, my goal missed by a lot. I expect to come back in the second round with more energy. I am not just leaving it to chance, but it will be tough.
Top 100 Personal Finance Blogs – I want to be part of the Top 100 Personal Finance Blogs. Thanks to my Page Rank issue, this is purely a wish. The irony is my traffic increased 50% and my Page Authority is 54 and Domain Authority is 45. Go figure!
Although I suffered a few setbacks, I am optimistic that I will not remain down. Fortunately, I found some of the best articles of the week. This makes a good segue to today’s picks for Friday Night Links.
The following articles caught my attention:
Hope to Prosper – How to Save a Million Dollars on a Modest Income
Master the Art of Saving –The Easiest Way to Improve Credit Scores
My Multiple Streams –Think You Are Done With That Debt? Think Again.
Money Cactus – How to Protect Yourself From a No Income Situation
The selection of blogs is up to the committee of one established by krantcents as a representative of the Academy of Frugal Journalistic Writers. That committee can be influenced by meaningful comments, signing up for my RSS feeds, backlinks, links, trackbacks, Facebook Likes, Twitter, Re-tweets, Digg, StumbleUpon, delicio, Yahoo Buzz, Google Bookmarks and other social media. If you plan on creating a single purpose political action committee (PAC) to buy advertising on my blog to solely influence the committee, please go ahead! Please understand it will not influence the results.
I read more than five hundred (500) articles a week and I highlight just five (5) in my Friday Night Links. I may be down, but not out! Thank you for reading Friday Night Links New Year Resolutions Update .
