Friday Night Links Boomer or Late Bloomer? Are you an older worker? Even if you aren’t, you may have to work longer for retirement. Congress wants to raise the Social Security retirement age to 80 years old. What are you going to do?
It should make you think and do something such as start socking away your retirement savings so you don’t have work past a reasonable age. If you save enough in your early years, you have the opportunity to retire earlier than 80 years old. Do you really want to work in your 70s and 80s just to subsist? I wouldn’t and didn’t! I saved early and invested in income property. That and some businesses helped me achieve financial freedom in my 30s. There are more choices, if you save early!
Saving early can help you achieve financial freedom too. While my fellow boomers may have to work longer, some may be late bloomers instead and achieve financial freedom. Older workers made choices early that affect their later years. Make good choices early and your second career may be your own business or financial freedom. Make your choices and reap the rewards or pay the consequences. What are you going to do?
Life and Friday Night Links is a matter of choices! This makes a good segue to today’s picks for Friday Night Links.
