Liking Your Job or Professionalize the Things You Like!

We have the clothes we want, we eat the food we like, and we speak the way we choose – but we must work what we have to do! Job is the main thing in person’s life. We pass almost all our time at work. Is it an absolutely fair when we think that our job on other’s will? Give this false truth of the life a little time and concern. Just invest your valuable time in the activity you like, and you life will return your love!

What about doing a work that we like to do? According to the latest data about job vacancies, most of people apply for the work they have to do due to financial hardship. Actually, we have a tendency to perform better if they we are engaged in the activity we love. If we talk about cooking, will you be able to prepare a tasty food or will you enjoy spending your time in preparing a food you can’t stand to eat or feel disgust while cooking? How tasty will the food be cooked if it has been prepared for person you can’t stand or have never wanted to prepare for?

Here it has been compared cooking with your work and your place of work (where you have to work but don’t want to) is someone you have to cook for. When a person is in the stage of education (in many cases) he doesn’t choose what he graduates with. It is usually based either on the marks the person has got in the examinations or decided by our parents. Having the highest marks does not mean we like a particular subject. Maybe, a student wasn’t well in the subjects he was passionate about inside.

Now, let’s forget what we were concentrated to do and couldn’t do in the past because of immaturity. Actually, it wasn’t a force, but rather advice as this situation used to speak more on behalf of us. Are we mature enough now? We still follow what the situation requires. It is luckless not only for person but also for his performance. Our infelt job loves us back more because we are enjoyed from inside to do it. And if the understanding comes from your heart the performance becomes innovative and unique. Maybe, it won’t make you experienced at first but will keep you enjoyed – what is more ‘important’? Having activity that you like is not just bliss, but bless also.

With the knowledge of self-realization we get the knowledge of ‘true value’ to life. We have the job what all of us have been chosen for, not the job we have decided to do. It isn’t easy to move your life this way, but once it is moved, life becomes easier. Struggling against the world is easy, struggling against one’s own self is toughest; once reached it makes your life happy forever.

I think it’s great if the work you love is something you can earn a living wage at and fits in with the lifestyle that you have. But that’s not always possible, and as a few people have pointed out recently, DWYL is generally a privilege for those of a certain class.

(I like the line, Professionalise the things you like, though!)

I view this situation as a percentage! You should like what you do for a living the majority of the time. Anything over 50% should be your goal. I would say, if that is not possible, you should look at changing your career or job.

I’m not sure why but we all seem to realize this at the latter stage of our lives. Oh how I wished I knew this when I was lot younger… It’s not like I was never told this either. I specifically remember older people telling me about something like this but in all honesty, I really had no idea what I wanted to do for the rest of my life and always admired those that did. Luckily, I’m very much loving what I do now. Good post!!!

Age and maturity have a lot to do with this. I am in my 7th career and liked all of the previous ones. Often, it is the job or company and not the career that is a mistake. It is tough to recognize the difference!

My mom keeps telling me that I should be a financial advisor since I love the industry so much but I’m doing well with my current job and don’t know if I could make the jump into a sales position.

Career choices should always be the individual’s choice. After all, you have to perform the career.

Time flies by when you are having fun, but the question is does it pass quickly when you work.
I guess this depends on whether a person likes their job :)

Life in general goes very quickly! If you enjoy what you are doing, you will be good at it.
