I am doing testing at school this week! It is that time of year where K-12 schools test their students to see how much they learned. It is an assessment of students and in some way an assessment on the teachers and school. At work, performance reviews evaluate a worker’s skills, knowledge, initiative and whether he/she achieved department/company goals.
When I gave reviews, my employees were never surprised! They knew exactly what was expected of them and they received constant feedback on their performance. Clear expectations are similar to goals, the more specific you can be with your goals; the more likely you will achieve them. How do you rate your performance on your goals? Are you a superstar at work, but a slacker on personal goals? Maybe you need a performance review.
Some people need that “fictional boss” to motivate you to change or reinforce what you are doing. Although I cannot give you a performance review, I can identify the best or favorite articles of the week. This makes a good segue to today’s picks for Friday Night Links.
The following articles caught my attention:
Money Beagle – It’s Not Just Big Things That Can Lead To Financial Problems
Money Crush – You Need a Plan
Money Mamba – Why Everything You Think About Stock Picking is Wrong
My Journey to Millions – There are NO New Retirement Rules
My Multiple Incomes – My Home Appraisal Was Wrong – Now I Have to Appeal!
The selection of blogs is up to the committee of one established by krantcents as a representative of the Academy of Frugal Journalistic Writers. That committee can be influenced by meaningful comments, signing up for my RSS feeds, backlinks, links, trackbacks, Facebook Likes, Twitter, Re-tweets, Digg, StumbleUpon, delicio, Yahoo Buzz, Google Bookmarks and other social media. If you plan on creating a single purpose political action committee (PAC) to buy advertising on my blog to solely influence the committee, please go ahead! Please understand it will not influence the results.
I read more than five hundred (500) articles a week and I highlight just five (5) in my Friday Night Links. How do you rate your performance? Thanks for reading Friday Night Links Testing Edition.
