This is my 2011 half year goals update, since I made my 2011 New Year’s Resolutions. I changed my schedule for reporting my progress to quarterly on or about every three months.
My 2011 New Year’s Resolutions revealed rather ambitious goals. These goals motivate me to be more determined to achieve these goals. I know it won’t be easy and I expect there will be difficulties, but I am determined to succeed. At the end of each quarter, I will share my progress so you can see how I am doing.
Top 100 Personal Finance Blogs – I want to be part of the WISEBREAD Top 100 Personal Finance Blogs. I am using Open Site Explorer (OSE), which is a link popularity checker and backlink analysis tool. The OSE figures only changes monthly. In addition, I am using Alexa Ranking to check my progress.
Although I made significant progress, I need to make more to achieve my goal by the end of the year.
Below are my figures compared to the WISEBREAD Top 100 Personal Financial Blogs (#100 OSE results) and krantcents figures as of Jan 1, 2011[..]:
OSE Analysis – As of 6/30, krantcents [1/1/2011] and (#100 Wisebread)

Domain Authority – [10] 38 (49)
Total Links – [6] 13,688 (11.483)

Increase workouts – Increase workouts from two (2) times a week to three (3) times a week.
Just about every week, I was able to workout four (4) times a week. Since Daylight Savings Time, I am riding my bicycle outdoors for nearly ninety minutes twice (Tuesday/Thursday) a week . Since I started exercising on my stationary bicycle, I read eight (8) books. Cycling 90 minutes burns approximately 700-750 calories.
Be more patient – In the past, I used my impatience to drive myself to reach goals faster and better.
The last three (3) months has been a real test of my new found patience and I passed!. I have changed my bad habit, although it is still a work in progress. Keeping a journal forced me to address some of the causes of my impatience! Although I may have a long way to go, I noticed small changes in my behavior. Am I now a easy going, relaxed patient guy? Not exactly, however I do see some progress. Some things that would set me off before, does not even get a reaction.
New Year’s Resolutions are goals! My plan is to monitor my progress toward achieving my goals and adjusting my efforts to reach objectives that keep me on track to accomplish my goals. My 2011 Half Year Goals are either on track or I need to step up my effort! I am used to accomplishing my goals, so you will probably see more of me in the second half! I came a long way to accomplish my 2011 half year goals, but there is more to go! There you have it, my 2011 half year goals update!

Good work and good luck the rest of the way. It is amazing to think that the year is half over already. Enjoy the rest of the year!
Thanks, now the real work begins!
Good luck on your goals KC! I’m sure you’ll sail through to the top 100!
I love to say I am confident, but I think the telltale date is October 1st (3rd quarter)! My big push is this summer.

Great progress KC! Now on to the final push, the goal seems very achievable by/before 3rd quarter, so your year end post is going to be awesome!
Thanks, I am starting a big push now because October 1st is a important milestone.
Wow, looks like you’re close to achieving your WiseBread goal! Also, keeping a journal is nice. I haven’t done that in awhile because it can be pretty time consuming. I have impatience problems too though – what do you think journaling helped you do that helped you address your impatience “problem”?
I kept a very simple journal, similar to notes of triggers. By writing it down, it made it more real and I could address it better. It is still a work in progress, but I can see changes. It is no different from writing down your goals, it is the beginning of making them real. Then you need a plan to make them happen.
As far as the WiseBread goal, I am making a big push this summer because October 1st is an important milestone for me.
90 minutes of cycling, that’s a good burn. I think I’m starting to go that route as well, now that #2 son is getting concerned with workouts and wanting to go on evening rides.
It is the best 90 minutes because I get rid of my stress, listen to music on my iPod and just plain relaxing. .
